2010 AAAE Conference and Exposition – ADB Airfield Solutions exhibited at AAAE this spring where the company introduced a prototype of a high-intensity L-862 LED Runway Edge Light that’s due out later this year. 2010 IES Conference – At the IES Conference October 17-21, ADB Airfield Solutions will provide an in-depth look at our False River, LA taxiway installation. False River has installed the first solar-powered airfield lighting circuit in the world, using LED lighting products from ADB Airfield Solutions and solar panel and battery packs from Carmanah Technologies Corporation.
The test system is also using ADB’s new APS system (Advanced Power Supply), a new generation of power equipment that has been designed specifically for LED circuits. ADB’s new power supply was designed around Pulse Width Modulation technology, which is the most efficient method to drive LED fixtures. The concept has been proven at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport where it was installed in late 2006 and an APS system was recently installed at RAF Mildenhall.
